9 May Nairobi National Park early morning followed by the Elephant Orphanage visit and lunch at Camp. Dinner & overnight at Kolping Guest House.
10 May Visit Nairobi National Museum/Introductory lectures on Kenya, its history, and the development and conservation   challenges it faces. Visit host the Dept. Geography & Environmental Studies, Univ, Nairobi to meet undergrad & grad students (Biodiversity & NRM group) – tour of the campus and nearby city sites .
11 May United Nations Environmental Protectorate.
11 May Travel to Laikipia.
12-15 May Laikipia/Mt Kenya: Forest ecosystems. Class conservation debates (moderated by graduate students).
15 May Travel to Naivasha
16-19 May Naivasha; Lake ecology Local livelihoods/ Rift valley formation. Talk from Dr. Francis Mwaura (Univ. Nairobi) on environmental history of Lake Naivasha. Visit to flower growers operation. Local hikes to view and oberve wildlife.
20-22 May Maasai Mara. Savannah ecosystem/pastoralism/ tourism/human-wildlife conflict. Game drives.
22 May Depart Masai Mara and return to Nairobi. Depart Nairobi 11:50 pm KLM 566. Connection in Amsterdam KLM 691
